Claudia Miclaus
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was a major political and spiritual leader of India and the Indian Independence Movement. He is commonly known around the world as Mahatma Gandhi, where Mahatma stands for "Great Soul".
Mahatma Gandhi was a great personality of his time who did not influence his country alone but through his life example, influenced the whole world. He was a peace pioneer who stood out due to his way of life and because he really fought for the freedom of his fellow countrymen, the Indian people.
He was a great leader and his peaceful campaigns against discrimination of any kind and protests against excessive taxes have been embraced on a national scale.
His dream was to see India free from foreign domination, and he wanted his people to live independent and in a viable economy.
